A helicopter view with a focus on teamwork and operational implementation
Roy has the drive to finish projects and activities. Always together with a team where the result and the way towards the result are key. Roy has over 30 years experience in various air traffic management domains. The experience varies from R&D to implementation and operational management and was gained at NLR and Air Traffic Control The Netherlands (LVNL). Roy has significantly contributed to the development and application of several Safety Management methods. The application of safety assessments for changes, definition of safety criteria, investigation and learning from incidents and occurrences, and the improvement of safety culture are only some of them. Roy also has been program manager Tower 2.0, where the Schiphol towers have been refurbished and the Electronic Flight Strips (EFS) went operational. Roy concluded his LVNL career as unit manager operations Schiphol tower and approach (TWR/APP). This makes Roy an experienced, inspiring, and collegial person.
In his spare time, Roy also is active where pleasure and results are combined. Roy likes to plays soccer in the weekend, works on a biological local farm on a regular basis and plays bass guitar in a hobby music band.
