Develop and implement a Quality and Safety Management System

We worked closely with the local management and operational staff to ensure the development of an effective management system.

DC-ANSP is responsible for the provision of Air Traffic Services in the Curaçao Flight Information Region (FIR). This responsibility includes area control for the FIR and aerodrome/approach control for the airports of Bonaire and Curaçao. DC-ANSP is also responsible for the production of the Aeronautical Information Packages (AIPs) of Curacao, St Maarten and the Dutch Caribbean islands Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba.

In anticipation of corrective actions following an ICAO universal safety oversight audit of the state’s aviation authority, DC-ANSP decided to improve its quality and safety management systems. While the SMS was the main topics to be addressed, it was also an objective to upgrade DC-ANSP’s (quality) management system as a whole, with the ambition to eventually certify ISO 9001 compliant.

During a period of three years, we worked closely with the local management and operational staff to ensure the development of an effective management system. A quality and safety management system was designed, described and implemented.
