The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has requested the Civic Advisory Board Schiphol (MRS) to assess Schiphol’s plans on runway maintance, including noise abatement measures. MovingDot supported the MRS on technical and operational ATM aspects.
Following the Schiphol Runway Maintenance Strategy (BOS), runway 09-27 will endure heavy maintenance from 10 May to 28 September 2025. Works include full runway resurfacing, as well as complete renewal of the lighting system. Other maintenance works, such as on adjacent taxiways, will be linked to the runway maintenance. In addition, other runways will receive regular maintenance during the year as well, albeit significantly less comprehensive.
The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has indicated that Schiphol shall include noise abatement measures when requesting exemptions for runway use, with runway maintenance plans for 2025 being the first. The Minister has also requested the MRS to advise on the runway maintenance plans. MovingDot supported the MRS by providing a technical and operational appreciation of the information in the available documents, discussing the MovingDot findings and supporting the MRS in drafting its final advice.
