Connector, enthusiastic, and affinity with both structure and unpredictability.
Arjen graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in aviation management (BSc, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) and a Master’s degree in Project Management (MSc, Utrecht University of Applied Sciences). He has been involved in various projects focusing on airspace handling methods and collaboration between different aviation companies. Arjen concluded his master’s program with a successfully defended thesis on leadership actions to promote acceptance and understanding of project goals within multidisciplinary hybrid project teams.
During his initial studies, project-based work became a point of interest for Arjen. This stemmed from his internship with the airspace revision program and his thesis research on collaborations within an Airport Operations Centre (APOC). This interest led to the decision to pursue a master’s degree in project management. During this program, Arjen realized that his strengths lie in collaboration, result-oriented work, and approaching tasks in a project-oriented manner. When faced with challenges, Arjen seizes them eagerly. He is confident that he will further develop these and other skills in his role as an Air Traffic Management Specialist at MovingDot.
After completing his master’s degree, Arjen started working at Royal Schiphol Group, handling various complex infrastructure projects as a junior project executive. Since joining MovingDot, he has been involved in several projects, including preparing and supporting an ATM-ANS 373 audit, providing consultancy for ATM projects with a focus on improving human performance, and working on policy and certification projects.
In his leisure time, Arjen is a sports enthusiast; you can often find him at the pool or in the gym. Additionally, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, indulging in a leisurely charcuterie board, a slow-cooked meal, or a game of ‘Keer op Keer’. Finally, he is working towards obtaining multiple certificates, including one as a competitive swimming coach and another as a scrum master.
